About Grant “Big GC” Coleman

With more than 40 years in the Australian meat industry, Grant Coleman – widely known as Big GC – brings unmatched expertise and passion to the barbecue world. As President of the Australian Barbecue Alliance (ABA), Grant has been at the forefront of promoting BBQ culture across Australia.

Grant has proudly represented both the ABA and Australia on the global stage, competing at the prestigious Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo World’s Championship Bar-B-Que Contest in Texas in 2017, 2018, and 2019. His achievements include an incredible 2nd place in Brisket and 16th overall out of 380 teams in 2017 – all while showcasing premium Australian-produced brisket.

Beyond competition, Grant has been a driving force in the growth of BBQ at home, promoting and running many successful ABA competitions in NSW and QLD, as well as competing in ABA, SCA, KCBS, and IBCA-sanctioned events both in Australia and the USA.

Passionate about sharing his knowledge, Grant is committed to helping barbecue thrive across Australia and ensuring that competitive BBQ remains accessible, enjoyable, and rewarding for all.
