CLASSES: Our classes are designed for anyone who wants a full, immersive day of meat, fire and smoke. From first-timers to seasoned backyard pitmasters, you’ll build confidence, skills and knowledge you can use straight away. Classes cover topics such as:
Low & slow barbecue fundamentals Cooking with charcoal, briquettes, wood and pellets Choosing the right cuts of meat Trimming, seasoning, cooking and resting techniques Temperature control and fire management
Expect a hands-on experience, plenty of practical tips, a wide range of dishes cooked throughout the day — and no one leaves hungry.
WORKSHOPS: Our workshops are more focused and product-driven, perfect if you’re researching, upgrading or wanting to get more from your current grill or smoker.
Popular workshops include: BBQ 101 – choosing the grill that’s right for you Cooking across a wide range of barbecues and smokers Fuel setup, lighting methods and temperature management Product-specific sessions to help you achieve the best results from your own BBQ You’ll get real-world advice, not sales talk — everything is demonstrated on equipment we know and use ourselves.

COMPETITIONS – Steak Cookoff Association (SCA) - Rib Cookoff Association (RCOA) We are proud to host officially sanctioned Steak Cookoff Association and Rib Cookoff Association New Zealand competitions.
Come along and watch BBQ competitors go head-to-head throughout the day, battling it out for Cash and prizes - National Competition points - Serious bragging rights
BBQ competitions are growing rapidly across New Zealand, with events now happening almost every week somewhere around the country. Competitors chase points to climb the NZ Competition Ladders, all with the goal of becoming National Champion.
There’s also a coveted Golden Ticket on the line in each category — granting direct entry to the SCA or RCOA World Championships held annually in the USA.
Whether you’re competing or spectating, SCA and RCOA events deliver high energy, incredible food and true BBQ theatre.
